About a hundred people were gathered outside a witch doctor’s hut in Haiti in a voodoo village. We formed a large circle and were about to pray when one woman became very agitated. “You didn’t bring us food and clothing!” she cried out in Creole. Having nothing left since we had already given away the food and clothes my team had, I responded through my interpreter, “If I give you food today, tomorrow you will be hungry again. If I give you clothes today, in a few months they will wear out and be tattered and torn. But what I came to give you today will last forever. I offer you spiritual food that will satisfy you now and for all eternity.” She nodded to acknowledge that what I said was good.
During my prayer, I glanced to see if this woman was participating. Her head was bowed and her eyes were closed. The thirst of her heart was greater than her need for food and clothes.
Giving water to someone who is thirsty is admirable, but unless we also offer the life-quenching water of Jesus Christ, we deprive them of their most crucial need. If we give a bottle of water or food or clothes to someone in need, we should do so in Jesus’ name. While we should care about people’s material and physical well being, we should be even more concerned about the condition of their soul.
Terrorists will not overcome the world (as many fear) but will be defeated. The war on terrorism is actually a catalyst moving us toward the establishment of a one-world regime seeking dominance over every person on this planet. A global coalition, eventually led by the prophesied Antichrist, will ultimately defeat terrorism. Scripture reveals that no human force will be able to wage war against the Antichrist and prevail. He will be given temporary authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.
The Antichrist will defeat and subdue the enemies of Israel in a pretense to be the Messiah. A peace treaty signed with Israel will, three-and-a-half years later, be broken as the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem is desecrated by the Antichrist. A holocaust of unparalleled proportions and a reign of horrific terror will commence making the heinous attacks and murders of today’s terrorists seem mild in comparison. A global bloodbath of Jews and believers in Jesus as Messiah will exceed anything the world has ever experienced.
The unveiling of the apostate church (“Mystery, Babylon the Great” of Revelation 17 and 18) is on the near horizon. This spiritual prostitute will wield great political power, limitless prosperity and unbounded perversion. In cahoots with the Antichrist, this apostate church will persecute and martyr anyone who is faithful to God. Ironically however, the Antichrist will throw his former ally, the apostate church, off his back and unleash horrible devastation on her.
Near the end of the Tribulation period, the Antichrist and his cohorts will gather at Armageddon with satanically inspired plans to finally annihilate Israel. Their futile mobilization will be quickly terminated with the awesome Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ spoken word is all it will take to defeat the Antichrist, the False Prophet and the armies of the world aligned with them.
Christ will then establish His Millennial Kingdom as He rules and reigns over this entire planet from His throne in Jerusalem. The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord, and the peace promised at the time of Christ’s birth will finally be realized. True believers in Jesus Christ will rule and reign with Him throughout the Millennium and for all Eternity.
