The Gong Show (November 1984)
This video was recorded in November 1984 at Case Avenue School. The Gong Show was sponsored by Teen Life and Kids Life (a division of Bill Rudge Ministries), featuring local talent.
The Gong Show was an amateur talent contest that ran on NBC in the mid 70s. If the act was “gonged” it was out of the running. The acts that remained competed for judge’s votes. The winners were chosen by the highest score from the judges.

Ultimate R.I.O.T. (April 1988)
The Ultimate R.I.O.T. (Ridiculous, Interesting, Outstanding and Terrific) was a high intensity, fast-paced competition which involved hundreds of young people divided into four different teams. Youth from Teen Life and Kids Life (a division of Bill Rudge Ministries) participated in exciting competition and challenging contests such as an obstacle course, chariot race, refrigerator box relay, giant pushball, tug of war, indoor snowball fight (stacks of newspapers rolled up into paper snowballs). This Ultimate R.I.O.T. was held in April 1988 at Hickory High School gymnasium.
